3rd OES International Workshop on Marine Energy Data Sharing

You are kindly invited to participate in a virtual, invite-only workshop on international marine energy data sharing.

After two successful Ocean Energy Systems (OES) workshops on Marine Energy Data Sharing in 2021 and 2022, the U.S.-based Portal and Repository for Information on Marine Renewable Energy (PRIMRE) team is hosting, in collaboration with OES, a third online workshop on 2 May 2023 from 3:00-5:00 PM UTC.

A total of 24 professionals from 11 countries participated in the 2021 workshop, and 27 from 8 countries participated in 2022. Both workshops included presentations and discussions focused on the value of data sharing, the barriers to data sharing, and solutions to overcome those barriers. Overall, there was strong consensus on the value of periodically reconvening the group to discuss data sharing opportunities and progress.

The 2023 workshop will continue this collaborative effort and will feature presentations on some of the various online marine energy resources available around the world (e.g., databases, portals, and/or tools), with a particular focus on sharing spatial data.
