The National Wildlife Federation released this report, which explores the challenges and opportunities facing offshore wind power in the United States. Some of the key takeaways from the paper are the positive aspects of offshore wind development on powering homes, growing jobs, and protecting wildlife through proper siting. The report notes that the offshore wind industry could grow even faster in the United States than it currently is and includes suggestions such as setting stronger goals, ensuring competitive markets, supporting power purchase agreements, ensuring efficient leasing processes, and investing more heavily in research and infrastructure.
