The NETL led Carbon Capture Simulation Initiative (CCSI) held its Annual Fall Program Review Meeting with its Industry Advisory Board September 24-25, 2014 in Reston, VA. The meeting included an overview of the initiative’s accomplishments over the past year, including new models and computational tools that can be used by industry to help accelerate the development and scale up of carbon capture technologies. Three detailed case studies were presented showing how the CCSI Toolset can be used to help answer specific questions that could not be adequately addressed before, as well as detailed discussions and demonstrations of specific components of the CCSI Toolset. Discussions were held with industry partners to further their utilization of the tools. Additional capabilities planned for the remainder of the program and research needs following the conclusion of CCSI in January 2016 were also discussed.
