AB - The Wind Energy Technologies Office (“the Office”), which is part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), plans and executes a diversified portfolio of early-stage research and development (R&D) to advance technologies for offshore, land-based, and distributed wind energy, and its integration with the electric grid. The Office also supports research on siting and environmental challenges and analysis and modeling. This work aims to drive down the cost of wind energy through competitively selected, cost-shared projects, carried out in collaboration with industry, universities, research institutions, and other stakeholders.
