TY - RPRT TI - The Eagle Owl (Bubo bubo) on Sleneset and Windpower AU - Jacobsen, K AU - Rov, N AB - (The majority of the report is in Norwegian. However, there is an abstract in English.)Lurøy municipality is probably the most important area in Norway for the endangered Eagle owl. Within the area of the planned windpark at Sleneset there are 9-14 breeding pairs, which is the most dense breeding population reported in Europe. There is very little available knowledge about Eagle Owl and wind power, but dead birds are documented from both Germany, Spain and Sweden. The transfer value of these records are uncertain, and it is therefore impossible to predict the frequency of collisions that will occur at Sleneset. The Eagle owls will perhaps stay in the area of the windpark, but the wind turbines may cause increased mortality because of collisions. However, it is more likely that the total technical installations and disturbance will have the most negative effect on the Eagle owls at Sleneset.Norwegian Title: Hubro på Sleneset og vindkraft DA - 2007/01// PY - 2007 SP - 33 PB - Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) SN - NINA Report 264 UR - http://www.nina.no/archive/nina/PppBasePdf/rapport/2007/264.pdf LA - English KW - Wind Energy KW - Fixed Offshore Wind KW - Raptors KW - Birds ER -
