TY - RPRT TI - Guidance note: Guidance on Methods for Monitoring Bird Populations at Onshore Wind Farms AU - Scottish Natural Heritage AB - The need for monitoring of birds at onshore wind farm sites, after they have been constructed is outlined in the 'Monitoring the impact of onshore windfarms on birds' guidance note. The purpose of this additional guidance is to offer more detailed advice on the design and methodology of such monitoring, so that results can deliver what they are intended to deliver, and that outcomes can be compared across wind farm developments. Inevitably monitoring may need to focus on species of conservation concern, but may also address impacts on other species where this is appropriate. This guidance deals exclusively with monitoring at on-shore wind farms. For the purposes of this guidance an on-shore wind farm also includes all the roads, infra-structure and other, ancillary developments that form part of the onshore wind farm.
