TY - RPRT TI - Eagle Owl and Wind Power development at Karmøy, Western Norway AU - Rov, N AU - Jacobsen, K AB - (The majority of the report is in Norwegian. However, there is an abstract in English.)Due to a long-term population decline, the Eagle Owl has now been reclassified as endangered (Norwegian Red List 2006). It is believed that until recently the population has been considerably overestimated. Electrocution is probably the most important mortality factor in Norway, as well as in other European countries. Although collision with wind turbines is poorly known for Eagle Owls, it is concluded that disturbance and collision risk may significantly affect at least two breeding pairs within the windmill development area at Karmøy. Territory abandonment is considered likely.Norwegian Title: Hubro på Karmøya og vindkraft DA - 2007/03// PY - 2007 SP - 40 PB - Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) SN - 239 UR - http://www.nina.no/archive/nina/PppBasePdf/rapport/2007/239.pdf LA - English KW - Wind Energy KW - Land-Based Wind KW - Collision KW - Displacement KW - Birds KW - Raptors ER -
