AB - The function of this environmental description is to inform potential developers to the European Marine Energy Test Centre (EMEC) of the environment within which the wave development test site, Billia Croo is located. The description covers the character of the physical environment, the biological environment, the human environment and also conservation areas around Billia Croo. Meteorological and hydrographical information will be supplied by EMEC.The following sections provide a detailed description of each important environmental characteristic. A summary figure of the environmental sensitivities of the area is provided in Figure 2.7 on page 12 and seasonal sensitivities summarised in Figure 2.8 on page 15.
