TY - JOUR TI - Radio Telemetry as a Tool for Impact Assessment of Wind Farms: The Case of Little Terns Sterna albifrons at Scroby Sands, Norfolk, UK AU - Perrow, M AU - Skeate, E AU - Lines, P AU - Brown, D AU - Tomlinson, M T2 - IBIS The International Journal of Avian Science AB - Understanding potential impacts of wind farms on birds is an important concern among the scientific community. This study focuses on survey data as a means of understanding collision impacts. Scientists focus on the little Tern in their popular U.K. breeding site.To understand flight behavior, researchers used telemetry (tagging). Telemetry proved to be a useful for understanding broad habitat use. At the very least, telemetry can provide enough information to set precautionary distance for wind farms that might converge on existing habitats.
