Abstract
The use of wind power in India has been gaining importance with rapid installation in the last few years. The 12th five year plan targets to add 15,000 MW. However, most of the new wind farms are coming up in forest areas as these areas are easy to acquire, without the requirement of any environment impact assessment. The wind power sector need effective environmental norms to make it actually green.
