This booklet is a compilation of educational research briefs developed as part of the U.S. Offshore Wind Synthesis of Environmental Effects Research (SEER) project. The topics for the briefs focus on the environmental effects of offshore wind energy and were chosen through extensive outreach and engagement activities with stakeholders and the SEER Science and Technical (S&T) Advisory Committee between October 2019 and August 2021. Relevant literature was reviewed and synthesized for the final brief topics. The briefs were written by the SEER team and reviewed by external subject matter experts, the S&T Advisory Committee, and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Wind Energy Technologies Office between September 2021 and June 2022. Several webinars were also conducted to help communicate the state of knowledge on these topics. All briefs and webinar recordings are available on Tethys at https://tethys.pnnl.gov/seer.
Este folleto es una recopilación de resúmenes de investigación educativa desarrollados como parte del proyecto de Síntesis de Investigación de Efectos Ambientales de la Energía Eólica Marina de los Estados Unidos (SEER, por sus siglas en inglés). Los temas de los resúmenes se centran en los efectos ambientales de la energía eólica marina y fueron elegidos a través de amplias actividades de divulgación y participación con las partes interesadas y el Comité Asesor Científico y Técnico (S&T, por sus siglas en inglés) de SEER entre octubre de 2019 y agosto de 2021. Se revisó y sintetizó la literatura relevante para los breves temas finales. Los resúmenes fueron escritos por el equipo SEER y revisados por expertos externos en la materia, el Comité Asesor Científico y Técnico y la Oficina de Tecnologías de Energía Eólica del Departamento de Energía de los Estados Unidos entre septiembre de 2021 y junio de 2022.
